In Honor and Memory of Joe Miller

It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that we share the passing of one of our beloved partners, Joe Miller. Joe was born on February 17th, 1939. Born in the back seat of his family's car, Joe rushed into the world by arriving too early for his mother to make it to the doctor's office located above Boone Drug. When they arrived at the pharmacy, Dr Hagaman rushed downstairs to assist with the delivery by the front door. Later in life if anyone asked Joe about his horoscope and which sign he was born under, he would grin with his contagious smile and respond, "I was born under the sign of Boone Drug."

Joe was a partner of Boone Drug from the 1960's until the early 1990's. Joe retired from pharmacy to pursue his passion of art in selling art supplies, teaching, and sharing this passion with others. Another one of Joe's passions was his love of others. This love was personified within his practice of pharmacy. Everyone in Boone knew of Joe's humor and kindness. People would go out of their way to visit Joe at Boone Drug where he would entertain them while caring for them. Joe's love for others, and his teachings of how to share respect have led to some of our foundational practices; treat everyone with the same dignity, spend as much time as you can with each person, and help others at all times.

Joe was an outstanding person; we are blessed to work and live alongside him for decades. He set examples, taught us how to balance work and fun, and encouraged us to encourage others. He managed all of this by simply being himself. Joe will be missed more than words can express. He was a great leader, mentor, friend, pharmacist, artist, businessman, and person. Thank you, Joe. ❤️
